Mahnah Club of East Valley, a women's service organization, was founded in 1954 and took its name from the Hopi word, "Mahnah", meaning "leading women of the tribe."

In 1957, Mahnah Club was instrumental in the establishment of MARC, a school for the developmentally disabled. Mahnah Club also assisted in establishing the Tri-City Behavioral Health Center in 1967, and in 1971, Pre-Hab of Mesa which provides services in counseling, alcoholism and drug abuse prevention.

Members of Mahnah Club have also volunteered during the first years of the Maricopa County Well-Baby Clinic.

In 1981, Mahnah Club recognized the need for a crisis center for abused children in the East Valley. Mahnah Club not only provided the initial leadership and financial base for the Child Crisis Center, but also recruited volunteers and contributions from all segments of the community.

Mahnah Club also lends financial support to Save the Family Foundation. This support is critical in meeting the rising number of families in crisis who come to Save the Family for housing and an opportunity to become self-sufficient.
